Congratulations to Leon Gladstone, Caroline van Oosterom, Michael Aiken and Drew Fiorica on their defense verdict for our client, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, in a lawsuit involving the actor Kevin Spacey’s firing from the Netflix series House of Cards in 2017.

After a hard fought five-week trial, the jury found that the Plaintiff’s claim was not covered under the Fireman’s Fund policy. Plaintiff, series producer Media Rights Capital, sought $29 million in damages and argued that Kevin Spacey was unable to work on the show because of an alleged illness, namely “sex addiction.” The jury disagreed.  As Leon Gladstone later stated, “Fireman Fund’s intent in issuing this coverage was to cover exactly the expenses that the policy says it covers. The jury upheld that intent in finding that MRC’s business decision to sever ties with Spacey was not covered.”
