Anthony DiPietra focuses his practice on insurance, entertainment, and complex litigation. Licensed to practice in both California and Texas, Anthony represents clients in federal and state courts across the country. Anthony was recognized as a “Rising Star” from 2014 to 2016 by the Super Lawyers magazine. The magazine also listed him as one of the Up and Coming 100 on the 2015 Southern California Rising Stars List.
Anthony’s insurance practice involves defending insurers in bad faith lawsuits and providing coverage advice during the claims process on complex issues involving both first and third-party coverages. His insurance practice also involves providing advice on the unique coverage issues arising out of entertainment policies. He has advised clients on first-party losses, builder’s risk coverages, entertainment property claims, production losses, third-party indemnity claims, and intellectual property issues. He also conducts Examinations Under Oath and fraud investigations for carriers on suspect losses.
Anthony’s entertainment clients have included television networks, production companies, management companies, and artists. He has represented production companies and television networks such as A&E Television Networks, Inc., NBC Universal, LLC, BBC America and Time Warner Entertainment on production related claims and litigation. He represented the insurer of the country music act Sugarland in coverage litigation arising out of the 2011 Indiana Stage Collapse, and represented Chris Daughtry, one of the most successful American Idol contestants, in a suit brought by his former band over the ownership of several musical compositions. Anthony also successfully obtained a settlement from the artist Prince on claims by a literary agent over the sale of his biography, the Opus 1.
Over the course of his career, Anthony has a proven track record of successfully analyzing subrogation potential and products liability claims. He also has represented companies in a wide range of business and general litigation lawsuits, including derivative litigation, actions for involuntary dissolution and other corporate governance matters.
Anthony earned his law degree with honors from George Washington University School of Law where he was a published member of The George Washington Law Review, The Federalist Society, and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.

EXPERIENCE
Some of Anthony’s notable achievements include:
• Securing a declaratory judgment that an insurer had no duty to defend or indemnify a building contractor against claims by an employee that became a quadriplegic because of a construction accident.
• Obtaining a directed verdict in favor of an insurer on an insured’s claims for breach of contract, bad faith, and fraud.
• Securing summary judgment for the defense in a wrongful death suit against a real estate developer.
• Securing summary judgment in favor of a hotel chain on claims against it for the intentional torts allegedly committed by its employees.
• Recovering over $10 million in losses for clients on complex subrogation claims involving chemical fires and explosions.
• Obtaining a judgment in favor of client following a five-week trial on claims for fraud and breach of a corporate sale agreement.
• Securing summary judgment for a foregoing film distributor in case alleging the violation of its licensing and distribution agreement.
• Obtaining a jury verdict on property owner’s breach of contract claims following a three (3) week jury trial.
• Securing summary judgment on behalf of client in case alleging unlawful intrusion on and interference with a computer network.
